Medfly
Parasitoid Rearing
A manual of
rearing methods for two braconid parasitoids of medfly (Mediterranean fruit fly: Ceratitis
capitata) has been prepared by the USDA-APHIS Guatemala Medfly Station, based on
experience gained in studies of the parasitoids by the MOSCAMED programme and the regional
USDA-APHIS office. The manual, available in English and Spanish, gives details of rearing
operations for Diachasmimorpha tryoni and D. longicaudata, and is aimed to serve as a
basis for future activities for programmes in this field throughout the World.
